Dying to See You Again

When Jesus was alive, and for most of the two thousand years that followed, human life was "nasty, brutish, and short." The suffering in human life was mitigated by looking to a hereafter, to a promise of eternal life in a human community that would be saved and redeemed. A resurrected Jesus was the proof of that promise. Without belief in that proof, is the Easter Jesus an interesting myth, or does the Easter story point to a deeper truth about how love is stronger than death?
