In Western culture, and in particular Christianity, the body is experienced as inferior to "spirit." Secular culture encourages us to deny the body in a different way—by masking the signs of aging or celebrating only particular kinds of bodies. The tension between these two is either denying the body or idolizing it. So what's an appropriate and healthy response to being good stewards of the bodies we're given and understanding them as vehicles for spiritual growth?
