Growing Through Darkness
by Ellen Carvill-Ziemer, Intern Minister

April 22, 2012

We are living in a time of tremendous ecological change. We know that, to survive, human society must change. And yet, we have no clear shared vision of that possible future. It is not an easy time to be alive! Our confusion, fear, and grief can lead us to denial, anger, selfishness, even isolation. But these emotions are also a potent source of power from which to grow hope, courage, and commitment. Through ritual, myth, and song we will mark Earth Day and the power we have to be part of a new future.
