Honoring Our Grief

July 6, 2014

by Reverend

Matthew McHale

Grief is a normal part of what it means to be human, and manifests itself in many different ways. Yet our society sends signals that there are right and wrong ways to grieve, appropriate lengths of time for grief, and that there are appropriate and inappropriate things to grieve for. All this can make us feel self conscious about our own grieving process, and sometimes leads to healthy grief being pathologized. This Sunday we will honor and reclaim that process as our own way of expressing not only our sadness but our love.
